It is said that the Lebanese cuisine is one the best in the world; the people of the Land of Milk knew how to take advantage of an exceptional Mediterranean and Ottoman heritage, and developed it by the means of oriental finesse. Lebanese culinary habits are very oriental, and meals are taken late, gathering with family and friends, enjoying the “mezzé”, (hors-d’oeuvres put together by variety of salads, cold and hote appetizers), before main dish & desserts. Apart from the famous dishes, Lebanon also produces very fine wines and Arak and has numerous vineyards in the Bekaa Valley of which some are visited.
